ProstatID

Assists the interpretation of prostate cancer using MRI, and it provides a real-time detection and diagnostic output.

Overview

ProstatID is a radiological computer assisted detection (CADe) and diagnostic (CADx) software-only device for use in a healthcare facility or hospital to assist trained radiologists in the detection, assessment and characterization of lesions suspicious for cancer using MR image data from Philips, Siemens and GE high field systems.

ProstatID is intended for use as a concurrent reading aid for physicians interpreting prostate MRI exams of patients presented for high-risk screening or diagnostic imaging, from compatible MRI systems.

Results of ProstatID are computed in a processing server which accepts prostate MRI exams in DICOM format as inputs, and sends the output to append to the unique patient study destination using the DICOM protocol and format for post-processed images and reports.

Subspecialities

Features

  • The software works with the platform provider and seamlessly accepts prostate MRI inputs pushed to it, and automatically returns the outputs to the client PACS
  • Computer aided detection (CAD) presented as a colorized translucent overlay of the 2D axial T2 images to highlight locations, margins and risk score, where the device detected suspicious soft tissue lesions. Decision Support is provided by the regional overlay scores on a continuous scale ranging from 0-1 with the higher scores indicating a higher level of suspicion
  • The appended post-processed T2W image set can be viewed concurrently and linked three dimensionally via standard DICOM viewing with the original image set
  • A suggested PI-RADS exam score for the purpose of improving accuracy
  • A CAD created 3D rendition of the suspect cancerous tissue within the transparent 3D prostate gland
  • A PDF report is produced summarizing the software results with 2D and 3D images indicating suspect cancerous regions if detected, with accurate volume of the prostate and all lesions detected

Benefits

  • No additional hardware or viewers required, and the software integrates into the workflow by automatically appending it's output directly to the unique patient case, typically within 5 minutes after being pushed.
  • ProstatID aims to substantially improve throughput by reducing magnet time with non-contrast studies and reader time by indicating the location, margin, and risk (PI-RADS score) of every suspicious lesion.
  • ProstatID aims to reduce the costs by requiring far less contrast agents, but also reduces costly unwarranted biopsies and procedures from otherwise false positives while improving the detection of true positives.
