Blackford’s journey began in 2010 at Edinburgh’s Royal Observatory. Founder & CEO Ben Panter had a vision to apply his astronomical data processing research to the medical imaging field to help improve the lives of patients around the world.

Blackford’s initial technology was useful and solved specific problems in the medical imaging world. Since then, Blackford’s product offering has evolved to focus on providing healthcare organisations with an AI platform and supporting professional services to help evaluate and deploy tailored, best-fit AI applications to this platform.

Over the past decade, we’ve delivered innovative solutions that help healthcare professionals add clinical value, improve diagnostic confidence and patient outcomes.
