
Overview
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is one of the major causes of death, morbidity, and hospitalization worldwide. It is the third most common cause of cardiovascular death and is associated with multiple inherited and acquired risk factors.¹ It is difficult to diagnose a pulmonary embolism since it can manifest itself in diverse ways and several clinical signs non-specific to the disease and can be mimicked by a range of other conditions.
Providing automatic PE detection on chest images, CINA-PE leverages deep learning algorithms to accelerate clinical workflow and provide clinicians with real-time alerts, allowing faster treatment and intervention to improve patient management and outcomes.
